China’s WizEvo launches SYLPH hair dryer on Indiegogo

China-based robotic consumer products developer WizEvo has launched portable hair dryer SYLPH on global crowdfunding platform Indiegogo.

SYLPH is a cell-phone sized smart hair dryer featuring an intelligent heat control technology that accurately moniters temperatures, taking measurements 50 times a second. These measurements are used to increase temperature control, preventing extreme heat and avoiding potential damage to the user's hair.

The device is also capable of aerodynamic force, including a built-in ioniser, an electric motor, and a high-frequency sensing module to ensure drying efficiency and haircare.

WizEvo's chief executive officer (CEO) Simon Lin said: "During our two years of research, we surveyed 112 kinds of hair dryers from around the world and conducted more than 3,000 hours of testing. A total of 94.2% of the components that make up the SYLPH have been tailor-made."

The ionic nature of the blow dryer neutralises static to avoid frizz and its magnetic nozzles are replaceable. It also includes variable air speed controls and a self-cleaning function.
