Germany’s ADA Cosmetics buys RDI Malaysia

Germany-based ADA Cosmetics (ADA) has purchased personal care products developer RDI Malaysia to support its international presence.

With primary sales operations in Asia and North America, RDI Malaysia produces bodycare products and soaps. It also manufactures packaging materials such as bottles and caps.

The acquisition is part of ADA’s ongoing development strategy and helps expand its Southeast Asian activities.

In addition, ADA believes the purchase will provide its clients with added value, local production, and warehousing functions with better quality and short delivery times.

ADA CEO Wilhelm Könning said: “The acquisition of RDI Malaysia continues this course of growth while the expansion of our corporate activities in the southeastern market strengthens our international presence.

“For ADA, this investment is a significant step in the ongoing development of this growth-oriented region.”

Over the past three years, ADA has supported its organic growth through specific acquisitions of firms that had additional capabilities or could provide access to new market segments.

ADA started expanding its international portfolio with the purchase of UK-based Pacific Direct and Danish Scandinavian Amenities in 2015.

Founded in 1979, ADA Cosmetics manufactures and sells cosmetics and bodycare products for hotels. The firm has its own production facilities, along with an international sales and partnership network.
