Deals this week: Memebox Corporation, Daniel Alain Life Science, Julep Beauty

South Korean online beauty products seller Memebox has successfully closed a Series C financing round.

Led by US-based venture capital company Formation Group, the financing round raised $65.95m with the participation of existing investors Pejman Mar Ventures and Goodwater Capital.

The funds are intended to be invested for business expansion.

Biotechnology company Daniel Alain Life Science has bought the intellectual rights of a patented technology that helps to limit hair loss during hair washing and styling.

The patent is owned by Applied Biology, a biotechnology incubator founded by Dr Andy Goren.

Daniel Alain Life Science plans to launch a commercial product based on the technology next year.

Julep Beauty and Ulta Beauty have signed a national distribution agreement for the former’s products at 250 physical stores and online store ulta.com.

The number of stores selling these products will be increased to 300 by the end of this year and further more next year.

Based in the US, Ulta has 886 retail stores across the country.
