Clariant acquires 30% stake in Beraca Ingredientes Naturais

Swiss specialty chemicals company Clariant has acquired 30% stake in Brazil-based Beraca Ingredientes Naturais.

The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the transaction.

Beraca makes organic and natural certified ingredients which are sustainably sourced from Brazilian biodiversity.

Post acquisition, it will operate as independently managed firm.

Bereca assumed the health & personal care business of Sabará Químicos e Ingredientes.

Prior to the partial acquisition by Clariant, Beraca was a family-owned business. It will continue to market its products of active performance systems, fixed and essential oils, clays and butters, harvested from Brazil-based biomes.

Clariant business unit industrial & consumer specialties head Christian Vang said: "The alliance now created between key players in the Personal Care sector will build a partnership to deliver environmentally-compatible solutions, combining expertise on the sustainable use of biodiversity and state of the art formulation technology.
