US-based colour cosmetics company Kosås has secured an investment from CircleUp Growth Partners in a Series A funding round.

Established by Sheena Yaitanes in 2015, Kosås offers colour cosmetics and beauty formulations for women.

The firm plans to use the funding to strengthen its global market presence and growth.  It also plans to triple its sales this year by expanding the distribution of brands such as Violet Grey, Goop, Revolve, Bloomingdale’s, Neiman Marcus, Credo and The Detox Market.

“We are looking to reinforce and accelerate all aspects of the business.”

Kosås is also implementing an integrated marketing strategy to drive brand awareness and engagement to kosas.com.

Founder Sheena Yaitanes said: “With this first infusion of outside capital, we plan to build on the strong foundation we have created since our inception two years ago, while fuelling our growth trajectory with a narrative-driven content strategy, innovative product development, and expanded distribution through key retail partnerships, as well as our own direct-to-consumer channels.”

The company is currently expanding its international distribution to the UK, Singapore, Australia, and the Middle East to further increase its global footprint.

Yaitanes added: “We are looking to reinforce and accelerate all aspects of the business. How we rally our community around our core messages of empowerment and energy will be key.”
