Deals this week: Soothe, mySkin, The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company

Soothe has raised $31m through a Series C funding round led by The Riverside Company.

Based in the US, Soothe is a personal care service provider, while The Riverside Company is a private equity firm.

mySkin has raised an undisclosed sum through a Series A funding round led by Evonik Venture Capital, an investment branch of Evonik Industries.

Evonik Venture Capital will own a minority stake in mySkin following the transaction.

Based in the US, mySkin is a developer and manufacturer of skincare technology and devices, while Evonik Venture Capital is a German venture capital firm.

The Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company (A&P) has sold A&P(R), Waldbaum’s and Food Basics.

Based in the US, A&P owns a chain of supermarkets and food, drug and liquor stores.

The company has also sold miscellaneous brands and other intellectual property assets as part of the transaction.

Hilco Streambank has been appointed by the company as broker for the transaction.

Karl Lagerfeld intends to launch a limited-edition colour cosmetics collection in collaboration with ModelCo.

The new Karl Lagerfeld+ ModelCo collection will include more than 50 beauty products, utilising ModelCo’s formulas and innovative technical packaging solutions.

The collection will be sold through Karl Lagerfeld stores and at its website Karl.com, as well as through ModelCo’s distribution network.

It will also be available at Nordstrom stores in the US, select retailers in the Middle East, and Douglas, Cult Beauty, Nocibe and Galeries Lafayette stores in Europe.

Love Beauty and Planet has partnered with the Recycling Partnership to develop a recycling system in Falls Church, Virginia, US.

The brand will contribute $40 to the Recycling Partnership for each carbon ton of greenhouse gas generated by its production and distribution activities.

Unilever will also donate its profits earned from holiday gift sets sold in 2018, to the Recycling Partnership.
