Deals this week: Beauty Bakerie, Apotheca Beauty

Beauty Bakerie has raised $3m in a seed funding round led by Unilever Ventures on the CircleUp investment platform.

The round saw the participation of 645 ventures and Blue Consumer Capital, as well as individual investors such as American Express' CEO Kenneth Chennault and Lazard Investment Banking's managing director and co-chairman William Lewis.

The funding is intended to be used to expand the company’s Beauty Bakerie’s product portfolio and consumer base.

Apotheca Beauty will distribute Lancer Skincare’s products in the Middle East as part of a collaboration between the two companies.

Based in the US, Lancer Skincare aims to grow its sales in the luxury skincare market.

The agreement will enhance the company’s retail presence in a number of markets in the Middle East.
