Element Electronics and FaceCake unveil augmented reality mirrior

Element Electronics has unveiled an augmented reality experience vanity mirror in partnership with FaceCake Marketing Technologies.

The mirror can transform a room into a personalised augmented reality environment. This enables users to virtually see cosmetics and accessories before or after purchasing on a real-time digital reflection along with personalised recommendations and purchase options.

It features an adjustable light-emitting diode (LED) light and a sensor, which accounts for the natural or artificial lighting conditions of the room.

Element Electronics' founder and chief executive officer (CEO) Mike O'Shaughnessy said: "This smart vanity mirror aligns with Element Electronics' mission to bring amazing technology, affordably priced, to all consumers."

FaceCake also developed augmented reality product Swivel, a 3D virtual dressing room that allows shoppers digitally try on clothing and accessories.

The Internet of Things (IoT) smart vanity mirror will be available this year at select retail outlets.
