Farouk Systems and LG Household and Health Care form JV company

Haircare firm Farouk Systems has partnered with South Korea-based consumer products company LG Household and Health Care to form joint venture (JV) LG Farouk.

The JV is a South Korean corporation and is expected to bring technology and advancements to the beauty industry. LG Farouk will commence a manufacturing unit in South Korea to support distribution channels in Asia and provide new product concepts through combined expertise in technology and product formulations.

The skincare products of LG Household and Health Care will also be distributed by Farouk Systems through its distribution channels in the salon industry.

The product lines will comprise existing products with an expansion plan to include anti-aging and hydrating skincare and technological devices.

Farouk Systems was founded in 1986 by Dr. Farouk Shami and manufactures haircare products under brands such as SunGlitz, CHI, and BioSilk. The company aims to offer products that support hairdressers and their clients.

Shami said: "This union will not only provide a new form of science from LG but a fresher approach combining art and innovation that Farouk Systems is famous for.

"Together, we will be able to create and manufacture a whole new future of technology for the beauty industry."

LG Household and Health Care is an unit of the LG Group and operates across 130 countries with more than 200,000 employees.
