Firmenich has opened a new Global Perfumery Creative Centre in Singapore.

The new facility will support perfume creation and technology innovation through advanced application laboratories.

Intended to provide new consumer-focused fragrance solutions, the facility will house Firmenich’s fine fragrances, bodycare, and home care businesses, which manage its haircare range, soap bars, and detergent powders.

Firmenich perfumery and ingredients president Armand de Villoutreys said: “We have grown significantly across Asia over the past four decades, thanks to the close business partnerships and trust of our customers in the region.

“This new creative centre will enable us to work more closely with our customers to co-create unique fragrance experiences.”

“This new creative centre will enable us to work more closely with our customers to co-create unique fragrance experiences that appeal to the diversity of consumers across Asia and beyond.”

Building on its existing role in Singapore, the firm intends to support its partnerships with local universities and partners such as the National University of Singapore and the Singapore Association of the Visually Impaired.

In July this year, Firmenich announced plans to expand its alliance with blind and visually impaired people as sensory panellists to analyse its fragrances and flavours.

After obtaining positive results in trials performed with 20 visually impaired panellists in Mexico and the UK, the firm intends to include panels in Singapore, Geneva, Switzerland, and India.
