HiMirror launches smart beauty mirror

US-based HiMirror has launched smart beauty mirror that offers consumers a new way of self-reflection.

The product is named after its producer, HiMirror and provides in-depth, personalised skincare analysis based not only on the evolving condition of skin, but also local weather conditions and other factors.

HiMirror is subsidiary of New Kinpo Group, a global electronics manufacturing services (EMS) and original design manufacturing (ODM) company.

A standard mirror is available for $189 while the device with multi-ambiance makeup light costs $259 .

A companion product, Smart Body Scale ($79), which offers body and weight analysis, body mass index, body fat, water level content, muscle mass, bone weight, resting metabolism and body type will supplement the mirror.

HiMirror is around 11in x 16.5in in dimension, is humidity-resistant and can be easily installed in a bathroom, closet or bedroom walkway, affixed to a wall or a mirror.

It has a high-resolution camera and proprietary technology that provides in-depth complexion analysis.

HiMirror identifies dark spots, red spots, dark eye circles, wrinkles, pores, fine lines and other complexion elements from a makeup-free photo.

It then generates a personalised Skin Index Synthesis report, an assessment of skin firmness, brightness, texture, clarity and overall healthiness.

The mirror can be connected to a WiFi and is bluetooth-enabled, thereby allowing display of the local weather, can sync with Google Calendar, and even play Spotify.

HiMirror has facial and voice recognition capabilities which allows it to help multiple family members to track their individual skin needs and recommendations.

HiMirror retains an ongoing log of the skin to track skincare goals, the results of products used and also has a feature for providing feedback on the products.

The skincare products can be scanned into the system by barcode, with reminders sent for any product expirations.
