L’Oréal USA shifts headquarters

L’Oréal USA has shifted its headquarters to 10 Hudson Yards in Manhattan’s West Side.

For more than six decades, the company’s headquarters was in Midtown Manhattan.

Over the next few months, 1,300 L’Oréal USA employees will occupy ten floors of the building.

The building spans over 400,000ft² of the 1.8 million square feet Platinum LEED designed modern glass tower.

Most of L’Oréal USA’s corporate functions and brand teams including Essie, Garnier, Lancôme, La Roche-Posay, L’Oréal Paris, Matrix, Maybelline will be housed at the 10 Hudson Yards building.

Around 150 employees, including creative teams from across L’Oréal USA’s brand portfolio and The Body Shop relocated to the nearby Terminal Stores building, which is a revitalised West Chelsea warehouse complex that earlier used to house a transfer station for the New York Central Railroad.

L’Oréal USA is the largest unit of the L’Oréal Group and manages a portfolio of more than 30 beauty brands including Garnier, Giorgio Armani Beauty, Kérastase, Lancôme, La Roche-Posay, L’Oréal Paris and Yves Saint Laurent Beauté.

It also serves as the international hub for the product development and marketing strategy for L’Oréal’s 15 US brands including Baxter of California, Carol’s Daughter, Clarisonic, Dermablend, Essie, Kiehl’s, among others.

It generates more than $6bn in annual sales.

Employing more than 10,000 people, L’Oréal USA operates administrative, research, manufacturing and distribution facilities across 13 states, including Arkansas, California, Florida, Kentucky, New Jersey.
