L’Oreal appoints first chief retail officer for US unit

L’Oreal has appointed Marc-Alexandre Risch as its US chief retail officer.

Risch will be responsible for leading the company’s retail operations, developing back-office retail operations solutions, systems and synergies across the company, and setting up omni-channel consumer experiences across the brand’s portfolio in the US.

L’Oreal USA president and CEO Frédéric Rozé said: "With our retail operations growing rapidly across brands like Kiehl’s, NYX and Urban Decay, we’ve created this strategic role to continuously enhance our customer shopping experience."

L’Oreal Group appointed Risch as the international project manager for Garnier in 2005 and quickly took up various leadership roles.

He also served as international marketing director for Garnier Haircare and in 2012, he was appointed as general manager of The Body Shop Canada.

During his role in The Body Shop Canada, the brand reported strong and consistent growth. He undertook several important initiatives, including transformation of the brand’s real estate.

L’Oreal USA, a unit of the L’Oreal Group, has a portfolio of more than 30 beauty brands, including Carol’s Daughter, Clarisonic, Essie, Garnier, Giorgio Armani Beauty, Kérastase, Kiehl’s, Lancôme, L’Oreal Paris, Matrix, Maybelline New York, NYX, Redken, Urban Decay and Yves Saint Laurent Beauté.

Its corporate headquarters is located in New York City and has research, manufacturing and distribution facilities across 13 other states.

It employs more than 10,000 people.
