Mary Kay inaugurates new headquarters in Lima, Peru

Global beauty company Mary Kay has inaugurated its Peruvian headquarters in Lima.

With an initial investment of $9m, the move follows a launch of Mary Kay in Colombia in 2015.

The new subsidiary is intended to handle operations across the country and provide new entrepreneurial opportunities for women.

Mary Kay president and CEO David Holl said: “As the demand for high-quality products increases and the entrepreneurial spirit strengthens with the country’s economic growth, we anticipate a successful launch in Peru.”

Founded in 1963, the firm sells a variety of products across skincare, makeup, bodycare, fragrances and suncare sectors. Its portfolio also includes multiple men’s grooming products.

Mary Kay primarily focuses on research and development (R&D), performing numerous tests on its products to ensure that they meet safety and performance standards.

The firm is reported to have obtained more than 1,300 patents for products, technologies, and packaging designs.
