Procter & Gamble launches DUO in US

US-based Procter & Gamble (P&G) has launched the new DUO under its personal cleansing category.

DUO is a dual-sided buffer claimed to unite the care of a body wash and the experience of a powder puff into the smooth feel of a soap bar.

DUO features a flexible cleanser encapsulated by a two-sided cleaning implement. One side is smooth to help soften and condition skin, providing a cotton-like feel for gentle cleansing. The other scrub side contains more than 10,000 microscrubbers to exfoliate and renew skin surfaces.

P&G's North America personal cleansing associate brand director Stephanie Robertson said: “For over 130 years, from the launch of Ivory bar soap to the introduction of our body wash, P&G has delivered innovative products based on evolutions in consumers’ needs.

“The rise of the dual-user was an indication to us that there is a void in the market, which is leading to compensating behaviors, people using both a bar and body wash.”

The new product is available in Olay, Old Spice, and Ivory versions and is available at select mass and food retailers, as well as e-commerce channels across the US.

P&G’s brands include Gillette, Head & Shoulders, Lenor, Olay, and Pantene. It has operations in approximately 70 countries.
