Real Techniques unveils make-up sponges

Real Techniques has unveiled three new sponges designed to achieve flawless application of make-up.

Designed with YouTube beauty stars, Sam and Nic Chapman of Pixiwoo, the brand's applicator options are intended to cover the three C's of make-up application: cover, correct, colour. 

Nic Chapman said: "As makeup artists, we have been using sponges for years, and now we are letting our fans in on our little secret to flawless application."

The new expanded portfolio aims to meet the demand for sponge applicators in the makeup industry.

While Real Techniques offers make-up brushes, tools and sets, premium sponges represent 34% of the applicator category. Sales for the product are up by more than 600% year-on-year.

The latex-free sponges are based on a foam technology that makes it applicable on liquid, cream and powder make-up.

It can be dampened to impart a dewy glow to the make-up or can be used dry for full coverage.

The rounded shape of the sponge helps to blending the make-up on large areas of the face with a dabbing motion while its precision tip covers blemishes and flaws.

The flat side of the sponge can reach inaccessible areas of the face such as under-eyes and around the nose.

The product package consists of two complexion sponges, three mini erasers and one sculpting sponge, valued at $19.99.
