Beauty retailer Sephora has agreed to stock skincare offerings of Amyris’ consumer beauty brand Biossance from January next year at more than 60 of its stores in Canada.

Biossance’s 100% plant-based squalane skincare range is formulated to provide moisturisation using safe and sustainable ingredients.

The Biossance line includes various products such as 100% Squalene oil, Squalene + Peptide Eye Gel and Squalene + Probiotic Gel Moisturiser, and claims to have avoided the use of 2,000 harmful ingredients.

Amyris is a renewable products firm that utilises new bioscience solutions to transform plant sugars into hydrocarbon molecules for the production of specialist ingredients and consumer products.

The firm develops specialist and performance chemicals, flavours and fragrances, cosmetics ingredients, pharmaceuticals and nutraceuticals.

Sephora currently operates 2,300 stores in 33 countries, including 430 locations across the US, Canada, Mexico and Brazil.
