Sunstar Group opens facility in Illinois, US

Switzerland-based Sunstar Group has opened its oral care location in Schaumburg, Illinois, US.

As well as manufacturing toothbrushes, the new site will enable the company to expand product categories such as toothpastes, which include paste, gel, liquid, and cosmetics.

The facility will serve as office, manufacturing hub, research and development centre and distribution space.

Sunstar Group plans to speed-up expansion of its global oral care business with this facility. The firm relocated its earlier locations in Chicago and Elgin to the new Schaumburg facility last year.

The new 302,000ft² facility is located on an 80 acre site. The size of the research laboratories has been doubled to boost development of product categories.

Sunstar Group Oral Care Company president Richard McMahon said: "Our newest operation in Schaumburg is just the latest investment the Sunstar group has made to allow us to meet the growing global demand for our products here in North America and around the world.

"We will expand our product range with new and innovative products, leveraging the new state-of-the-art R&D facilities and expanded range of manufacturing expertise."
