US-based Bellami Hair has received a $20m investment from holding company Cathexis Holdings, with an additional $100m capital commitment.

With the investment, Cathexis will acquire a minority stake in Bellami Hair.

Founded by Julius Salerno and Nikki Eslami in 2012, Bellami has worked with personalities such as musician Guy Tang and television personality and model Kylie Jenner. This year, the company launched its Bellami Professional products and expanded its Bellami Beauty Bar retail salon concept.

“We look forward to opening new localities, including London, Paris, Dubai and Sydney.”

The hair extensions brand has US-based locations in Houston, Las Vegas,  Miami, New York and Los Angeles, as well as Vancouver in Canada.

Bellami’s CEO Julius Salerno said: “Bellami has achieved incredible growth with zero outside funding or debt. Now, imagine our capabilities with a $100m to strategically invest and an equity partner as aggressive as us when it comes to the continued dominance of this market.”

Cathexis has investments in real estate, energy and private equity. Its founder William Harrison said: “Our venture with Bellami Hair represents our continued interest in working with companies that operate in industries with high compound annual growth rates (CAGR). Our investments only consider industry titans and Bellami has proven to be a fearless leader in their category.”

Bellami co-founder Nikki Eslami said: “After this investment, we look forward to opening new localities, including London, Paris, Dubai and Sydney, as well as bringing the same quality products and services to new territories in 2019 and 2020.”

The brand plans to support the Bellami Professional Hair Extensions and Education initiative, which is expected to expand rapidly across the US, Europe and Asia.
