Arvind to open Sephora’s stores in India

Indian textile firm Arvind has partnered with Sephora, a French luxury conglomerate. owned by LVMH Moet Hennessy Louis Vuitton.

With this partnership, Arvind will manage Sephora’s three stores in Delhi and one in Pune. It will focus on urban centres through the beauty and cosmetics categories for its geographical retail expansion.

Arvind Lifestyle Brands managing director and CEO J Suresh was quoted PTI saying: "Overall, the beauty and personal care market is around Rs 15,000cr, of which premium market is Rs 2,500 cr and growing at a compound rate of 25 per cent.

"Given this large opportunity, we expect Sephora to reach a turnover of Rs 500 cr in the next four years with 40-45 stores."

Sephora is a cosmetic products retailer having a presence in 31 countries.

According to the forecasts made by Arvind, the personal care and beauty market is around Rs.150bn and the premium market of Rs.250bn at present is growing at a compound growth rate of 25%.

Sephora’s global chief operating officer Olivier Schaeffer said th they want to make premium beauty more accessible to Indian consumers with unique and differentiating concepts.
