Oriflame India acquires manufacturing unit in Roorkee

Oriflame India completed the acquisition of a manufacturing unit located in Roorkee in Uttarakhand state in northern India, in a bid to fulfill the increasing sales demands in India and in Asia.

The company said its long term site development plans will enable the unit to cater to the majority of the Wellness category demand in select Oriflame markets in the Asian region, according to Times of India.

The new Oriflame Healthcare India (OHI) facility, which is spread over an area of 61,124ft², is being renovated.

The buildings and infrastructure are being upgraded so as to make sure that the amenities meet Oriflame standards and comply for production of wellness products.

Oriflame South Asia and managing director, Oriflame India vice president and head Niklas Frisk was quoted by the newspaper as saying that the acquisition displayed their commitment and focus on long term strong growth in India.

" The India Wellness team is working hard to coordinate all aspects of this complex project to ensure that we have a very strong foundation to work with for being able to launch wellness products in the Indian market in the coming years,” said, Frisk.

The acquisition is said to be the outcome of almost two years of research by professionals from cross functional teams from various offices of Oriflame, locally as well as globally.
