Theraplex forays into Chinese market

Manufacturer and distributor of over-the-counter moisturisers and facial chemical peels the Theraplex Company said it had entered into a long-term distribution agreement with Techwise International for the distribution of its entire range of products into China (including Hong Kong and Macao), effective immediately.

Techwise International, a Las Vegas-based company, which develops senior housing facilities in the United States and China, is involved too in the import and export of various products to and from China.

Techwise president Jun Yang said that he was positive about the opportunity for Theraplex products in China as well as in the Far East.

Few years earlier, Yang was introduced to Theraplex skincare products when his wife’s dermatologist recommended her to use one of the brand’s moisturisers to fix a persistent dry skin condition.

The product was said to have been efficacious, and since then his wife has been using the entire product line.

"I recognized the products’ potential in a huge market like China, and contacted Theraplex. After several discussions and negotiations, we entered into the agreement," said Mr. Yang.

Product line of Theraplex was developed in the late 1980s following the result of a Swiss researcher’s patented process of extracting heavy oils and grease from petrolatum.

This technique was later combined with a unique delivery system by the scientists to create the Theraplex range of non-irritating, non-comedogenic and fragrance-free moisturisers.

Theraplex moisturisers are claimed to have better hydrating and skin protection properties with no greasy feeling and are suitable for all skin types.
